Course: Engineering Mathematics I
Course Code: SH 101
Course Objectives: To equip students with essential mathematical skills and techniques relevant to engineering fields.
Topics Covered:
- Derivatives and Applications (10 hours): Mean value theorems, L-Hospital’s Rule, Taylor’s and Maclaurin’s series.
- Antiderivatives and Applications (11 hours): Integrals, Beta and Gamma functions, area, and volume in Cartesian curves.
- Ordinary Differential Equations (10 hours): Linear differential equations, modeling, and applications in sciences.
- Plane Analytic Geometry (4 hours): Transformation of coordinates and equations of conics.
- Three-Dimensional Geometry (10 hours): Straight lines, shortest distance, and introduction to right circular cone and cylinder.
Course: Computer Programming
Course Code: CT 101
Course Objectives: To provide a solid foundation in programming principles and practical skills in the C language, including variables, data types, control structures, functions, pointers, structures, and file handling.
Topics Covered:
- Introduction to Computer Programming (3 hours): Basics of programming, problem-solving, compilation, debugging, and testing.
- Overview of C Programming (3 hours): Introduction to C language, structure, headers, and libraries.
- Operators and Expressions (4 hours): Arithmetic, relational, logical operators, and type conversions.
- Control Structures (8 hours): Conditional statements, loops, and their applications in programming.
- Array and Pointer (7 hours): Arrays, pointers, pointer arithmetic, and string handling functions.
- File Management (4 hours): File operations, error handling, and binary/text files in C.
Course: Engineering Drawing
Course Code: ME 101
Course Objectives: To develop basic projection concepts and sketching skills for effective communication in engineering drawing.
Topics Covered:
- Instrumental Drawing (1 hour): Tools, materials, and technical lettering practices.
- Dimensioning (1 hour): Size and location dimensioning, use of scales, tolerance dimensioning.
- Descriptive Geometry (4 hours): Orthographic projection, projection planes, and rules for parallel and perpendicular lines.
- Pictorial Drawings (7 hours): Isometric, oblique, and perspective projections.
Course: Fundamental of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Course Code: EX 101
Course Objectives: To introduce circuit concepts, AC and DC analysis, and basic electronics.

- Basic Circuits Concepts (6 hours): Current, potential, resistive components, and Kirchhoff’s laws.
- Average and RMS Values (4 hours): AC voltage generation, waveform analysis, and RMS values.
- Diodes (7 hours): Characteristics, rectifiers, and types of diodes.
- Transistor (10 hours): BJT, MOSFET, and CMOS configurations and applications in circuits.
Course: Engineering Physics
Course Code: SH 102
Course Objectives: To provide a solid grounding in physics with applications relevant to engineering.
Topics Covered:
- Oscillation (6 hours): Physical and torsion pendulums, damped and forced oscillations.
- Acoustics (3 hours): Hearing, reverberation, ultrasound applications in testing, and medicine.
- Optics (17 hours): Interference, diffraction, polarization, lasers, and fiber optics.
- Electromagnetism (6 hours): Faraday’s laws, induction, energy transformation, and eddy current applications.
