Course Objectives
Upon completion, students will be able to:
- Cultivate mushrooms, particularly Pleurotus and Agaricus species.
- Understand techniques of culture isolation, spawn preparation, substrate preparation, and pest/disease management in mushroom farming.
I. Syllabus
- Isolation and maintenance of pure cultures of Pleurotus and Agaricus.
- Preparation of spawn.
- Compost and substrate preparation.
- Bed preparation and mushroom cultivation.
- Harvesting and management of insects and diseases.
