LEE 401 & 402: Learning for Entrepreneurial Experience

Course Objectives
Upon completion, students will be able to:
- Design and execute an agricultural project aimed at maximizing productivity and profitability.
- Develop practical skills in project management, financial planning, marketing, and reporting.
Syllabus / Learning Activities
- Identify area of production or working area of choice.
- Develop a detailed business/project plan in consultation with a supervisor/mentor.
- Execute the project, record inputs and outputs.
- Market the product and perform cost-benefit analysis.
- Prepare, present, and defend a final report, including financial analysis and outcomes.
Working Modality
- Groups of 5–10 students select a production area at the time of course registration (7th semester).
- A project Performa is provided for registration and submission to the respective Department.
- Departments assign a supervisor/mentor within two weeks of registration.
- Each project is defended in the Department within one month of registration.
- Financial support is provided by the Dean’s office; repayment is mandatory, or results are withheld.
Evaluation
- Conducted jointly by course in-charge (mentor/supervisor) and an external examiner.
- Students present their report in a seminar, showing cost-benefit analysis.
- Grading is based on project returns (higher returns = higher grade).
- In case of negative outcomes due to uncontrollable events (e.g., natural calamities), the evaluation team decides the grade.
Eligibility
- Students must have completed all courses from 1st to 6th semester.
- Assignment to LEE projects is based on student interest and merit, considering available seats.
Organizational Setup
- Dean: Chief of the LEE executive.
- Head of Department: Managing Director of the program.
- LEE In-Charge: Faculty supervising student groups; reports directly to the Head of Department.
Note: The Dean’s office will develop a detailed LEE manual for management and execution.
